AMMONITE CHAIR

Walnut/Wenge/Ammonite

This bold chair was crafted with three powerful earth components. The main wood is walnut, valued for its strength and masculine/feminine balance. The stone inlay is Ammonite, an ancient fossil associated with time, creation and positive motion. The wood inlay on the arm is Wenge, an African wood that has been used for hundreds of years for ceremonial masks – it is said to have mystic powers.

This stunning seat was hand-crafted specifically to be used as a place of grounding and re-alignment. The materials and energy put into the creation of this piece provide the sitter with an opportunity for patience, open-mindedness and forward momentum.

CHYSOCOLLA CHAIR

Walnut/Mesquite/
Chrysocolla

This robust chair was crafted with three powerful earth components. The main wood is walnut, valued for its strength and masculine/feminine balance. The stone inlay is Chrysocolla, or the Communication Stone – it was harvested in Arizona and is known for its serene, calming, turquoise-blue color. The wood inlay on the arm is hand-cut Arizona Mesquite, known by the Pima tribe as the “Tree of Life” – it has been utilized by native tribes in the Southwest United States and Northern Mexico for its healing properties.

This thoughtful seat was designed specifically to be used as a place of grounding and connection between the sitter and the materials it is composed of, to create a moment of stillness and inner-communication; a space to think.

Process:

Hand Carved Joinery

Chairs are joined by box-end and mortise and tenon joinery, a craftsman technique that has been used for over a thousand years and allows for strength and simplicity of design. Jeddadiah integrates these ancient techniques with his own minimalist and meditative design inclinations to develop a modern refined chair, complete with intentional hand placed inlays.
